Joey's Hope For Hungry Children - Video entry submitted to Drew Brees Companies With A Mission (CWAM) Super Service Challenge

Joey Bovia loved children and fought for their freedom. His charity is designed to purchase food for hungry children in our community. Many children in our public schools eat on subsidized or free breakfast/lunch programs. Donations to our program allow us to fill book bags full of kid-friendly food each week and send those bags home with those children identified as being in need.

Joey's Hope is a charitable organization developed to honor and commemorate the life of USMC Sgt. Joseph Anthony Bovia who was killed in Afghanistan while fighting for our right to be free. 100% of proceeds from fundraising events are used to provide food, clothing and shelter to needy children in the New Orleans Metropolitan Area.

We feed approximately 150 children every week and have an after school program one day a week for 15 children. During the after school session we take them on field trips, help them do their homework, feed them dinner and work on social skills. These are children who would otherwise be alone until their caregiver comes home from work. Only one of our children in this group of 15 has two parents. Three of the fifteen live with someone other than a parent and all have lost a sibling or a parent to violence. We would like to expand our after school program but need resources to do so.
